the staff were warm. my wonderful butler ashis and his team, including jassy and nabina, were great too ensure a smooth experience (it was appreciated). their restaurant and local recommendations were spot-on. the surrounding areas were quiet.
Beach service had issues. We frequently had to ask for the parasol to be opened. charging for water around 10gbp in a hotel of this standard felt rather crass. i raised the issues with the manager, but i did not receive a gesture of goodwill.

the room, a cove house garden suite, was meticulously maintained. housekeeping kept everything super clean, refreshing the space twice daily. the gardens surrounding the villas offered peaceful spots. abra rides throughout the complex provided convenient transportation to restaurants and other amenities.
i experienced a temporary decline in butler service. the butler i initially had displayed a fantastic sense of humor and attentiveness. this changed abruptly mid-stay, with subsequent butlers being less available and sometimes impolite.

the arboretum buffet standards appear to have slightly declined , with a less diverse selection and a more casual atmosphere. beach service could also be slow at times , needing reminders to set up parasols, to provide shade.

the room offered a spacious and comfortable setting. the shower and bath area was thoughtfully designed, providing good water pressure (it really made a difference). the bed was comfy and huge, accompanied by a pleasant sitting area. i saw peacocks and peahens wandering past the outdoor area. housekeeping were great and replenished items quickly.
the villa sundowner hours were from 5pm-7pm. most people were not ready for dinner by 5pm. it was a shame there was zero interaction with other guests.

the breakfast buffet featured many options of great quality. there were various dinner choices available, including options over the ocean and within the complex. the variety of culinary experiences ensured all tastes were accommodated.

the room included high-end amenities, like the dyson supersonic(TM) hair dryer. the hotel provides dental hygiene products, shaving kits, and wooden combs. a capsule coffee machine and tea selections were provided in the room (always appreciated).

the room had a really well laid out shower and bath area. water pressure was good too. the bed was very comfy, and there was a nice sitting area. peacocks and peahens wandered past the outdoor area. the gondolas were a great way to move around the complex, it was relaxing floating around. the grounds are well kept and the lagoon is fantastically set up.
i have stayed at this hotel many times since 2009, things have gone slightly downhill. each villa used to have its own butler. they would arrange golf buggies, abras, reservations etc. now one butler is spread thinly across several villas.
